Committee for the Future of Civil Engineering Annual Fund
The Committee for the Future of Civil Engineers’ mission is to increase the number of degreed civil engineers
available for hire thereby insuring the highest quality of service to municipalities, construction managers and the
extended civil engineering community. To accomplish this, the CFCE committee focuses its attention on securing
scholarship dollars to recruit and retain young people to The University of Akron’s Department of Civil Engineering.
CFCE is a subcommittee of the Civil Engineering Advisory Council and consists of civil engineering leaders.
A campaign requesting gifts for the CFCE Annual Fund is conducted twice a year within a single fiscal year.
Donors providing $3000 and above gifts shall be recognized with a scholarship award in their name (or chosen name).
All other gift shall be pooled with other gifts to the CFCE Fund and awarded to students as the CFCE Annual Fund Scholarship.
Gifts, unless otherwise noted by the donor, are divided between annual scholarships, an endowed scholarship fund and student
design activities. The committee reviews all application for scholarships and awards scholarships on an annual basis. The committee
also reviews applications for student design projects and provides monetary awards accordingly.
